Apologies for being late this week, a lot has been going on lately. Real talk, ain’t nothing been happening in my life right now that’s worth telling y’all. So, instead, here’s a few interesting things I’ve discovered on the internet that relate to the siege on Palestine. And in case you don’t know what’s been going on for most of October, here is a bullet-point guide on the Israel-Palestine conflict provided by Al Jazeera.
@wizard_bisan1 (first hand video account and journalism from a Palestinian filmmaker currently trying to survive in the Gaza Strip)
@sbeih.jpg (IG account posting tons of resources, information about the occupation and Palestine itself, news and first hand video accounts of the occupation on social media whille aiming at how to use social media to grab attention to what is happening to Palestinians)
Decolonize Palestine (a really good resource that breaks down the history of Palestine and the Israeli occupation and tactics)
https://ceasefiretoday.com/ (U.S. focused with international info at the bottom. You can also use this info to put pressure on politicians about the genocides happening in Congo and Sudan.)
https://bdsmovement.net/ (Palestinian led boycott, divestment, and sanction group currently calling out companies to boycott that support the Israeli occupation)
Palestinian Youth Movement IG (gives info on protests and information sessions that support Palestine all over North America)
Al Jazeera (English site of Qatari funded news organization focused primarily on news coming out of the Middle East/Arab world in Arabic and English, gives fairly unbiased and factual information compared to Isael centered western media such as CNN, Fox News, BBC, etc)
I took this list of organizations to donate to from the Lux Magazine newsletter. You can sign up for free here.
This is just a few of the many resources out there currently on this situation. So while I continue to post about my own endeavors, I’ll do my best to continue spreading information about topics that I find important and interesting outside of myself and art itself.
I originally this post was on the gloomier sad, but then I realized that joy and creation is a form of resistance (which is why I made the illustration at the top). Thank you for reading.
Take care of yourself and each other.
