Another two weeks have gone by already and this is post #5! Thanks to everyone who’s subscribed so far, it’s been a very slow and steady growth but I will keep banging my pots and pans until this newsletter becomes my primary method of communication! and just out of curiosity, is there anything you would want to see me talk about in a future post? Perhaps once we get to a certain milestone we can do a Q&A. Also, I’ve realized that I am writing a blog and just calling it a newletter so I don’t mind me when I use the terms interchangeably. I mean this platform, I’m Bad At Names, which you can subscribe to by clicking the button below. :D
August has always been my most busiest month in the past 5 or 6 years or so, and that doesn’t seem to be changing this year. I’m buckling down on comic work this month, my job finally started for real now, and I’m selling stickers again. Suffice to say, I am a bit overwhelmed. I’ve gone back to writing down lists, and probably gonna start working in silence again soon to get stuff done. But it’s been pretty chill so far. :)
My Adventures with Superman (MAWS) has been airing for the past month almost, so I’m finally getting around to posting some of the work I’d done on social media. I’m still figuring out a way to be able to post less on social media, but for right now it’s still the best way to send out information for me, personally.
I have two more characters to show but the episodes they’re in haven’t aired yet at the time of me writing this post. One of them I’m really excited for. Same with my storyboards, I do have some things ready to post after next weeks episode, I believe. I’ll do my best to post more exclusives on my next newsletter!

The stickers have officially been launched on Ko-Fi once again, this time as a glossy version along with a few mattes left over from last time. You can check them out here. Orders will close on September 7th.
I wanted to get some new product photos but it’s been raining, unfortunately, so that’ll have to wait until later in the week. I probably won’t be advertising them as hard, you definitely be hearing about them again in the next post. Eventually, I want to set up an Etsy for items in the future just to try out the platform. I’ve been a little scared hesitant to set one up because Etsy sounds like it’s pretty serious. But listening to this video has convinced me to try and give it a shot.
Lastly, I saw this video from V.E. Schwab about “all roads lead to writing”.
“If your book sells, you’re gonna need another book. If your book doesn’t sell, you’re gonna need another book. If your book doesn’t sell well, you’re gonna need another book…For the vast majority of authors, their names and careers and livelihoods are not made by a single book…but an entire catalog.”
Schwab talks specifically about writing in the hopes of publishing traditionally. But it can apply to anything. And I think it’s something that I need to hear every so often. I always try to create things that I would enjoy, I’ve been in a slump for a very long time, I haven’t written anything new because I didn’t want to write. I didn’t really want to draw. The most I could do was be kind to myself and rest when I was able to. But I think now I would want to start writing again. Even if it’s ugly and bad (I am a horrible perfectionist, big surprise.). Buuuut yeah I thought this was a good, practical pep talk that I need to hear, so maybe it’ll help you if you’re going through something similar
For art, I’ve mainly been doing these:
I’ve been doing these blob doodles since I was a kid, forced to sit through adult church. I usually do them when I’m bored or to keep myself focused while I listen to something. Sometime I’ll use them to procrastinate from doing something else. I’ve never posted them online, because why would I? But I’ve been making them constantly lately, even in my physical sketchbook. I’m wondering if there’s a way to incorporate them into future artwork in some way since I can’t help making them…they’re definitely the most abstract kind of art I could possibly make.
Or maybe I’ll just keep em as a thing for myself, haha.
Have a good one!

If you wanted to use some of your abstract drawings in your work they could make really cool backgrounds or textures! Especially if you used the traditional media ones.
